Danyel grew up in an artistic family. She remembers a childhood where her mother made extraordinary Halloween costumes using things around the house. One of her earliest memories includes watching her father stain a wall unit he made out of leftover kitchen cabinets. Danyel and her brother Darren—who also has the family’s creative gene in spades—made wonderful things for their aunt’s country store “way back when.” Together they now operate Paris to the Moon in Costa Mesa, California.

Danyel claims that her fifteen minutes of fame would have to be from her confections that she calls Maddie’s Party Hats. It all started when her youngest daughter, then 4-years old, asked her to make a party hat out of some embossed wallpaper. Danyel embellished the hat with beautiful ribbons, vintage trims, and a few pieces of broken jewelry. Her hat designs continue to evolve and change so they are always an exciting adventure.

Her life as a mother of three—Kailey, Mason, and Madison—keeps her busy, but she still finds time to show her work at many art shows throughout California. Danyel strives to create the best of all possible hats, crowns, and tiaras for the princess within all women and girls.
