Founded in 2003, Red Lips 4 Courage Communications brings together an experienced team of editors, writers, photographers, and graphic designers that works closely with talented artists (both established and newly discovered) and designers to produce original books that showcase fresh and innovative new work. RL4C is thankful to the folks at Apple for making it possible to work with the best person for the job at hand without geographical limitations.
Eileen Cannon Paulin
Custodian of Creativity (in the corporate world that translates to President)
Eileen Paulin, principal, has been in publishing for 28 years. Her experience is in a wide range of markets, including crafts, home décor, sewing quilting, knitting, historic homes, landscaping, pools and spas, home video, and cycle sports. Eileen was group vice-president for Harcourt Brace Jovanovich’s (now Advanstar) west coast magazine and trade show division. She served as editor and associate publisher of Romantic Homes magazine and associate publisher of Victorian Homes magazine, during which time both publications grew dramatically. After having appeared as a regular guest on HGTV and The Discover Channel, Eileen is delighted to be on the other side of the cameras helping promote talented authors. She has written numerous books. Eileen is a graduate of The Annenberg School of Communication at USC.

Erika Kotite
Partner
Erika Kotite has a long and storied background as an editor, writer, stylist, project manager, and consultant prior to partnering with Eileen Paulin to launch E2 Media. As senior editor at Entrepreneur Magazine, Erika interviewed and worked with hundreds of rising stars in small business. A seasoned producer adept at building original content efficiently and cost effectively, Erika used these skills extensively as editor of Victorian Homes and Romantic Homes, two national niche shelter magazines. Erika recently helped launch a new magazine for working moms and is developing custom content packages for several national consumer magazines. She has worked with major public relations agencies in brand development. Erika is a graduate of UCLA.

Catherine Risling
Director of Editorial
Catherine Risling was a newspaper reporter prior to becoming Director of Editorial for Romantic Homes and Victorian Homes magazines. Cathy is contributing editor to Golf magazine and teaches Journalism at Cal State Dominguez Hills in Southern California. She has overseen the editorial process for all the books RL4C has produced. Cathy is the author of Pretty Weddings for Practically Pennies, and Make It in Minutes: Wedding Crafts. She is soon to become an expert in new motherhood, with many book ideas to follow.

Rebecca Ittner
Editoress
Rebecca has more than a decade of publishing experience including entertainment and technical writing and editing. For four years she was visuals editor of Romantic Homes magazine. Known for her attention to detail and charming way with people, Rebecca is integrally involved in the creative development of our books and works closely with Eileen in acquisitions. Because of Rebecca’s ability to negotiate peaceful resolutions, we affectionately refer to her as “Switzerland.”

Lecia Monsen
Editor-at-Large
Lecia is a self-described Jill-of-all-trades, master-of-none. With an extensive background in writing, layout, and design, Lecia possesses an invaluable perspective that enables her to envision an idea as a completed physical book. Afflicted with a Cecil B. DeMille complex for her entire life, Lecia was well prepared to work in the world of publishing and crafts. She has worked with well-known names in the crafting industry such as Anna Corba, Sandi Genovese, and Sandra Evertson.

Jocelyn Foye
Designer
Jocelyn Foye is a graphic and web designer whose clients include Aveda, Burson-Marsteller, and Quiksilver. She has overseen design for many RL4C books. Jocelyn has worked with academic institutions, corporate companies, and private businesses. Jocelyn holds a BA from Trinity College, and an MFA from CSU Long Beach. She teaches graphic design at the local college and state university levels. Her fine art work has been exhibited throughout the United States and Europe, with upcoming exhibitions in Berlin and Warsaw.

Zac Williams
Photographer
Zac believes life is a visual experience. After a six-year stint working with Fortune 500 clients at an ad agency and as a marketing director, Zac decided to step behind the lens. He has photographed over fifty books and also shoots for Coca-Cola, The Kroger Co. and Dean Foods. Zac was recently accepted into the American Society of Media Photographers. A Renaissance man, Zac can speak Russian, juggle, and fly a Cessna 172. True story: Once while riding a Harley though the Teton Range, he was chased by a buffalo.
